Join Talon Silverhorn in this exciting day of hands of practicing fundamentals techniques in moccasin making!
Learn about the history and use of moccasins, as well as the appropriate use of these culturally significant items. Using a deer hide, participants will cut patterns, awl, and sew a wonderfully soft pair of breathable moccasins. The cost of the 8 hour workshop includes materials as well as a traditional indigenous lunch that will be cooked over a fire.
Talon Silverhorn is a citizen of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma, and is actively working towards expanding the public's understanding of Native history and the living cultures many Americans don't realize they have access to. He has spent the last several years traveling to build bridges and educate organizations on these topics.
