Growing Your Farm Business: Planning Tools for Success at the Market Garden Level

Farmers of all scales, skill levels, and experiences, people wanting to farm for income, and students are invited to join OEFFA's Southwest Chapter for an event presented by Cultivate! Ohio Valley:
Presenter: Jim Lowenburg, Running Creek Farm
Cost: $15 for OEFFA or SWOEFFA members; $20 farmers / growers; $10 for students (bring payment to class)
Spend two hours with fellow farmers and Jim Lowenburg, who will discuss the essential tools he has successfully used to grow his business over the past 14 seasons. The class will allow you to understand what has worked for Running Creek Farm, and will include a round table discussion for asking questions and sharing ideas.
Class topics will include:
1. Discussion of various growing systems for small-scale farming
2. Planning techniques – planning for the next season, and planning for future growth
3. Basic strategies towards developing markets for your product
This is the first of four winter classes organized by Cultivate! Ohio Valley. The next workshop will be held January 18 at Bahr Farm, "Construction of a Small High Tunnel for In Field Vegetables."
